Very sad time for cycling at the moment with the tragic death of Wouter Weylandt in the Giro d'Italia and this also came very soon after the death of a physiotherapist from the hospital I work in after she was tragically killed having been hit by a van whilst cycling to work.
All we can try to do is to stay safe and not to take risks which are avoidable, life is very precious and we are very vulnerable when we are out on our bikes. Make safety your number one priority, on every ride..
