Thursday Training

Hi

VeloTron

Didn't feel like blasting away at threshold output today so opted to return to some revised Sweet Spot training. Reviewed my FTP value and recalculated the Sweet Spot values for the 88-94% of FTP range which makes my Sweet Spot 275-294W.

Back in January I was doing this work at 275W so decided today to shoot for the mid point of the Sweet Spot band which is 285W. The session went well and my average HR figures for the efforts were very slightly down on the January numbers but with a 10W greater load, encouraging.

The above could just be down to day to day variation but on the relevant day in January my TSB was neutral but today it was -9. The main thing was that today felt Ok and that's what really matters.

So, a good day, let's hope for more of the same tomorrow, L3 work ahead, followed by a series of quite high mileage days and a lower intensity, just some "saddle time" to check preparations for the multi-day Tour of Ireland, then up goes the intensity for a while.
